Trust can be the hardest thing to find, but the most gratifying thing to have.
I think the reason why trust can be so hard to find is because we base it on the past. This is often true when we try to change unhealthy habits and move toward our fitness goals
I always say, you can’t move forward if you’re constantly looking in the rear-view mirror. The rear-view mirror does have a purpose. It reminds you where you’ve come from and what you’ve left behind.
In my opinion, the windshield is the largest view you have in your car because it’s important to know where you are headed in your life.
If you’re constantly looking backwards, you won’t ever move forward. You have to trust that you’re heading where you need to go. Don’t start slipping backwards by giving into old, familiar habits. This is what hinders progress.
It’s normal to find a sense of comfort in our past, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make positive changes. In fact, to make a positive or permanent change, you have to move away from the old and find the new. That’s how you make progress.
We’ve all heard the definition of insanity. Insanity is when you do the same thing over and over again, but expect different results. Move away from the same unhealthy habits that hold you back.
Change is uncomfortable, but I don’t know any successful people who can say a journey that required change was easy. I do know lots of successful people who will tell you it was tough, but well worth it.
Trust your purpose.
Trust your plans.
Trust the process.
Most importantly, trust yourself.
This week’s O’Nealism:
“A person who lives in the past, doesn’t really live at at all. Trust the Future.”
Now it’s time for me to get to stepping on my NuStep, as I keep moving forward with my health and wellness goals.
