Cleaning Your Recumbent Cross Trainer.

One of the benefits of owning a NuStep recumbent cross trainer is being able to exercise whenever you want. No waiting in lines to use the NuStep. No time limits on the NuStep.

Another benefit is not having to contend with another user’s sweat, or worse, germs on the NuStep at the gym.

Now, certainly, your cross trainer isn’t exposed to the same level of use – and germs – as the equipment at the gym. But don’t be lulled into a false sense of security. Your NuStep still can harbor unwelcome bacteria. This is true even if you’re the only one in your household exercising on the NuStep. And even if you don’t sweat when you work out, you still need to clean your NuStep.

How Often Should I Clean My NuStep?

A good rule of thumb is to wipe down the surface areas on your cross trainer after every use, especially if it is in an environment that is warm, damp or poorly ventilated as these are the conditions that can help bacteria grow. By making it a habit to clean your NuStep after every workout, you’ll eliminate any bacteria before it has a chance to do its dirty work. If it’s convenient, keep the cleaning supplies (see below) nearby so it will be easier to remember.

What Should I Use To Clean My Recumbent Cross Trainer?

To clean your NuStep unit, use a soft cloth and any mild, non-toxic, and non-abrasive spray cleaner. Organic cleaners are recommended. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth and then wipe down the surface areas on your NuStep as shown in the diagram below.
